Frequently Asked Questions

Gradient SVGs use embedded linearGradient or radialGradient definitions. You can edit the stop colours in the SVG source or override them with CSS custom properties if the pack supports it. Unlike monochrome icons, they do not respond to a single color CSS rule.

Slightly, because gradient definitions add extra markup. A typical gradient icon is 1-3 KB — still far smaller than an equivalent PNG or WebP. The difference is negligible in most production bundles.

Streamline Color offers thousands of gradient-enhanced icons across every UI category. Fluent Color by Microsoft provides a polished set used across Microsoft 365 products.
