Can we use the new avatars in the team list? They read well at small sizes.

Yes. I checked them at 20px on the task cards too.

Faces that fit the market you build for

Most placeholder photos show the same few faces, nearly always smiling. Personified covers 9 regions and 6 moods, from a laughing grandmother in Lagos to a thoughtful student in Almaty. Filter by region, age or skin tone to fill a demo with people your users will recognize.

Use them as personas in demo data

Copy persona JSON gives you a seed record you can paste into fixtures, a design file or a pitch deck. The IDs never change, so a fixture that points at avatar 0042 keeps working.

{
  "id": "0001",
  "person": "0001",
  "name": "Ananya Rao",
  "country": "India",
  "region": "South Asia",
  "gender": "Woman",
  "age": 28,
  "ageBand": "18-29",
  "skinTone": 4,
  "mood": "smile",
  "image": "https://assets.allsvgicons.com/avatars/512/0001.webp"
}

Or install all 315 faces with their personas as a typed npm package:

npm i personified

import { find, pick } from 'personified';
const people = find({ region: 'South Asia', band: '30-44' });
const me = pick('[email protected]');

FAQ

Are these real people?
No. Every face is AI-generated and every name is made up. Use them as clear placeholders in mockups, demo data and design comps, never as fake reviews, testimonials, staff pages or social profiles. Full terms: Free Asset License.
Can I use them in commercial products?
Yes. Use them in client work, apps, prototypes, pitch decks and marketing without asking and without credit. You need written permission only to redistribute the files themselves or to build a competing avatar library.
Why do the avatars have names, ages and countries?
So you get a ready persona, not just a face. A demo for a product in Kenya, Vietnam or Peru can show people who look local, with a fitting name. Click any face and use Copy persona to get the data as JSON.
Will the image URLs and IDs change?
No. Each avatar keeps its number for good, and new faces get new numbers at the end. Variants of the same person (other moods) share a person ID, so you can show one user laughing in one screen and thinking in another.
Which size should I use?
Use the 128 px WebP for lists, comments and chat bubbles. Use the 512 px WebP for profile pages, hero cards and retina screens. Both are square, so a circle or rounded crop works with plain CSS.
How was the skin tone filter made?
From the description we wrote for each face, mapped to the same 5-step scale emoji use (light to dark). It is a rough guide to help you find variety, not a label on a person.
